Why intentions and goals need leverage September 20, 2008

When I teach the mechanics of goal setting and Law of Attraction priciples I notice that many people have great and sincere intentions to change their life circumstances and within a few weeks they either give up or try a new goal or realise the goal they set was not really for them. What is needed is to give your desires or goals sufficient leverage to move you forward.

For example I may set a goal to attract $5000 a month in passive income streams.

Now to give this some leverage I will ask the questions “why do I want this goal?”

If the answer is… “because I can pay off my debts and have a more peaceful life and not worry about money any more” – this may be a good reason it but it may lack sufficient emotional force to help you sustain this goal when you meet obstacles as you move forward. Instead you may want to adjust this until you feel a stronger positive emotional charge such as..

” Earning this money will inspire me to break free of living in survival mode and propel me into a lifestyle where I am using my creativity to attract even more wealth, serve my family and the community at large and I can choose to work on projects that makes my heart sing”

Personally I prefer this response or reason to go for the goal as I feel a sense of real purpose behind the goal. The reason makes me feel good and it will help me to sustain this goal as I go forward and handle the challenges along the way.

I will add a couple of more compelling reasons why I want a certain goal and make those reasons visible each day so the reasons are always at the forefront of my mind. This helps me to persist more with the goal  and I may add more reasons to my list why I want to attract this money over the time I am going for the goal.

It is not so much about the goal, it is more about what the goal will do for you in your life that really matters. To quote Jim Rohn,  America´s leading personal growth teacher, “Reasons come first”.

If you are going for a specific goal think about your compelling reasons to the point where you feel emotionally charged and sufficiently moved to make this goal worthy of you.

There is a lot of excitement going around the internet about a new visualisation tool known as Mind Movies which was created by a Ryan Higgins from Australia.

Ryan´s personal story is that he was in a job that he just did not like and was in huge amounts of debt. He tried a whole bunch of manifestation ideas and goal setting and struggled in the process to create the life he really wanted. Ryan came across the idea of creating your own mind movies of the things you want to bring into your life. Within three months he sacked his boss and was liberated from his debt situation and is now travelling the world spreading the message of this visualisation method.

I really like this visualisation idea as I can see how the power of images, music and the fast moving scenes speaks straight to the sub conscious mind. The subconscious relates to images and emotion and this mind movie idea is a method to access the subconscious for faster manifestation.

Like all things, the key to creating a successful vision board or mind movie is to know what it is you want and put yourself in the images that you see in your mind’s eye.

If you are not a visual person then the mind movie kit that Ryan provides does the visualisation for you as long as you set up the movie with the relevant images and sounds and then you watch your movies every day.

I am not an affiliate of this product and I thought I share it with you because it appears to be a great idea. Visualisation and imagination “rule the world” as Napoleon once said. The launch of this product happens today (10th September) and I intend to buy a kit and try it out. As it is launch week, Ryan offers a huge array of bonuses with the kit. It is worth a look if this resonates with you.

For some powerful case studies, take a look at this video clip…
