You will see it when you believe it March 31, 2008

The Law of Attraction is very much a thinking model that works with how you believe and feel about what it is you want to manifest. This thinking goes in the opposite direction of “I will believe it when I see it”.

The thinking habit of “I will believe it when I see it” is based on the old paradigm of thought that we need proof before something is real. We hold onto wanting security or control that we must see something first before we can believe it.

This is very much a mind dominated though process. It has its place, however, our model of the world is changing at a fast pace and a more enlightened way of perceiving the world needs to be adpoted.

This brings us to the perception that if we believe it first before we see it, that belief will create a vibration which will call that which we believe in to come forth – given time.

For example, If I believe in lack and I am broke, my chances of ever making it financially are very low indeed. However, If I have little in the way of money and I truly believe I live in an abundant world, I am on my way to financial independence, I am supported and ideas, people and events will come along to support me – that core belief will play itself out and my life will shift into that reality.

In other words I am not waiting to see it before I believe it. I am placing that belief out on a daily basis knowing things will change and my thoughts and actions are aligned to that belief. The law of attraction will eavesdrop on my vibration and has no other choice but to help me live and experience that reality.

My job it to feel that belief of abundance daily, let go of the feelings of lack, worry and doubt and on building my energy around that belief and what I want to attract into my life.

Really understanding the power of my beliefs and how they shift me into new realities is an empowering way to live which will not only enrich my life but also the lives of the people around me.

Reflect on the idea that you will see it when you believe it, put it into practice and see how your life changes for the better.

Healing your body using powerful visualisation March 29, 2008

If you have a health issue that has been causing you ongoing frustration, you may want to try this amazingly simple method of healing.

I practice the ancient art of Chi Kung and this health system aligns well with the ideas in the Law of Attraction and quantum physics.
I have used this method to heal a skin problem in a part of my body that has plagued me for years. The Chi Kung teacher who proposed this simple method to his students have used this on health issues and they have experienced great success.

Here is is..

Find a quiet, pleasant environment without distractions. Sit upright in a chair or lie on a bed or couch. Close your eyes and relax deeply. Breathe easily and naturally. Then visualise your diseased part of the body. Literally will it to recover but do so gently. Hold an image of that part in the process of recovering and later recovered. You can send it a feeling of gratitude knowing it has served you in some way and give thanks for the healing that is already happening.

Imagine all this in your mind´s eye and do this whole process gently. When you lose the image, rest the mind for a short while, still with your eyes closed. Then repeat the process.

This exercise should be done for not more than 5 minutes, twice a day. It is important to keep it consistent for at least a month and then review the progress.

This idea is not a magic pill for an overnight healing. It requires you to do it daily and consistently. Also it is not to be chosen over any medical help you may be receiving. Perhaps you can use it in conjunction with medical treatment.

Basically this is quantum physics in action. By observing something long enough as described above then the energy field around that which you observe will shift based on the quality and consistency of your attention.

When the Law of Attraction is not working March 26, 2008

So many people start the Law of Attraction journey and set great goals and intentions only to find that things are not happening as expected.

You set an intention to become more abundant and you end up heading towards going broke. You set an intention to have a more intimate relationship with you partner and within 2 days you have a big argument. You intend to feel more health and energy and you start feeling tired and in need of an energy boost.

Believe it or not the Law of Attraction is working! You may ask why?

What happens is that when you set an intention the opposite shows up. This is known as “contrast”. In other words the things you don´t like or want make a show. The initial reaction is that we resist what is happening, we fight the situation and start being hard on ourselves by thinking that our lives are going in the opposite direction.

If you can re frame this and have an attitude of “wow, the energy is moving here and I am on my way towards what I desire. In the meantime I am going to celebrate the journey even if it is not to my liking, I am going to celebrate this set back anyway and keep focused on the vision I have”

Having this embracing and open attitude helps you to go past the resistance that is a normal part of the process. Your mind is open, you are in a space of possibilities and the energy around your desire will start moving towards you.

I guess I am referring to an attitude of mind with this. By taken on this attitude you will discover the Law of Attraction is working because the Law responds to how you vibrate in every given moment whether you like it or not – it is obedient.

Overcoming procrastination using Law of Attraction March 19, 2008

Overcoming procrastination using the Law of Attraction is a useful approach to understanding when you are feeling stuck and frustrated and want a way to change and move through it.

I have procrastinated literally months on “should I or should I not start this new business idea”. It is a very uncomfortable space to be in.

The issue with procrastination is that if you feed it emotionally and beat yourself up about it, the vibration around wanting to get going just gets into a stuck feeling.

You end up observing the “stuckness” of a situation and just cannot get moving.

Energy feeds on energy and so feeding the reasons why you are “stuck”or “procrastinating” just keeps you in that space.

Here are some of the issues with potential solutions..

1) You are not ready to get going on something. Allow yourself to be in that space, without judging it knowing it will change in time. In other words give yourself permission to feel the way you do.

2) If you are taking on a new project, you may be feeling overwhelm. Reduce the project down into smaller and very doable steps and reward yourself in some way for taking the first couple of steps. Make this a habit for now until you feel strong and ready enough to take on the more challenging steps in a project.

3) Look for the benefits of the situation. For example, If you pay the credit card bill late, you may get billed with a $20 late payment. If you can pay on time, the benefit or saving is $20. Do something good for yourself like buy that book you have wanted for a while which is valued at $15 or donate some money to a good cause. Giving is a moving energy.

4) If you are feeling tired and just can´t get going. Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to do nothing without judging the situation and enjoy just being.
5) Making excuses or finding other interesting stuff to do. Sometimes the answer is “just do it”. In other words just do the thing you are putting off and do it step by step and make it a habit.

By not judging yourself or the situation that seems “stuck”, the emotional energy around this dissolves and in time you somehow feel the readiness to get going.

What seemed such a mountain to climb has turned out to be an enjoyable ramble up a hill.

Law of Attraction and Faking it March 16, 2008

The phrase “fake it until you make it” can be a real help when you want to change a habit and kick start a new behaviour such as working with affirmations and “pretending” you are abundant and so on.

We all, at some stage, need technique or method to get us going.

The fake it until you make it idea can work for many people as the mind does not know the difference between what is real and what is imagined.

For example, if I fake it till I make it with sessions of laughter, my body biology will shift accordingly and the cells pick up my laugher vibration and my body responds. That can be a help to get you to change your vibration.

However, there is a point where you have to check into your feelings so as to ensure that there is congruency with what is being said or thought with what is being felt. The Law of Attraction picks up your vibration or feeling rather than what you say or think.

So the faking bit is great to a point, however, the body or the feelings aspect of who you are needs to buy into whatever you are imagining or pretending. If you are affirming you are abundant and you are actually doing something about it like feeling grateful, giving to others, buying quality products and services (within reason) then those actions will affirm to your feelings that you are stepping up the vibration.

So what started as pretence has been matched by moving in the direction of what you desire and that faking aspect becomes a reality, over time.

If, however, you are affirming “I am happy, I am happy” a thousand times a day and you actually feel heavy and sad then this faking aspect may be a cover up for what really needs to be embraced, understood and released. The Law is obedient and picks up on what you are feeling.
Basically, the “truth shall set you free” even if it isn´t to your liking, however, there is no harm in kick starting something you want to bring into your life as long as you check in with yourself the truth of that situation through simple questioning and feeling out the way it is at that moment of personal inquiry.

Law of attraction and stress March 15, 2008

So many people start off the process of attraction with tons of enthusiasm and they work hard to make the Law work which can end up as a stressful experience.

When the you notice the feelings of stress or anxiety when working on an intention it is time to stop and really feel what this means. The process of attraction will become blocked and slowed right down if there is stress around.

Stress is a code name for fear and anxiety. These are not “bad” in themselves but simply signals for you to acknowledge the feelings, even welcome them and then find a way to move through the stress.

There are various solutions and the best answer will come from you. It could be to take time out and switch to something that feels good for you. It could be asking questions such as..

- What is this feeling telling me?

- How can I move through it and feel lighter?

- Who would I be without this feeling?

Questions help you to see the truth in the situation and in the question is the answer which comes from your own inner wisdom.

Stress indictaes that you are worried about the future or thinking about the past. By living in the NOW you will discover there is no stress. The stress is rooted in “stress thinking” and not in reality. By being in a now experience even for a few minutes and asking resourceful questions, you will be given the wherewithal to move through stress and learn from the process.

If we allow stress to dominate our lives, this affects the health of our heart, our body and our thinking in very detrimental ways. Stress has a place in our lives to help us move beyond or readjust to a situation, however, it is not to be entertained for long periods of time otherwise we lose the energy to attract and bring into our lives the dreams and experiences that we truly deserve.

Celebrate both success and setbacks March 13, 2008

One of the important aspects of the Law of Attraction is about managing your vibration or how you feel about what is showing up in your life.

When you do something right or feel a sense of accomplishment it is very good to adopt the habit of celebrating your success and breakthroughs in some way. So many of us do some amazing things and we just move on to the next thing and hardly ever acknowledge ourselves for what we have accomplished.

I guess so much of this comes from how we were taught not to “toot our own horn” as it can be seen to be a “selfish” pastime. We end up living in a non supportive way towards ourselves and in fact can play down how amazing we are and what we have achieved.

Playing down our efforts and successes actually lowers our vibration and sense of self worth. I suggest that when you accomplish something new in your day to day routine, pat yourself on the back by perhaps taking time out for half an hour, go buy yourself the best coffee in the coffee shop, get a massage or go buy yourself a simple little gift. All this is the firewood placed on the burning fire to get your vibrations up and feeling good about what you have done and who you are.

The same goes for setbacks. When a setback occurs, rather than bemoaning the situation and yourself actually find a way to feel grateful that you have met a setback. The set back has in it a gift or an opportunity to move through it and grow and learn from the experience.

This is not just about positive thinking, it is also getting in touch with your positive feelings.

You go from living a life of being in reaction to a life of responding. Taking responsibility is the “ability to respond”.

When we respond to life in such a way life can only support our path and growth when we have the courage and willingness to celebrate both success and setbacks.

Handling adversity with gratitude March 12, 2008

When faced with adversity it is so easy for us to close down and see the world through dark glasses and so we end up not being able to step back and see that the adversity could be a fundamental and important stepping stone on one´s path.

William Shakespeare  has an excellent quote around this in that he describes a sweetness in adversity…

“Sweet are the uses of adversity which, like the toad, ugly and venomous, wears yet a precious jewel in his head.”

So it is about looking for the precious jewel within one´s setback. It is about looking for the “opportunity” even when things look so bleak and there is a sense of no hope.

In the context of the law of attraction looking for the good in something helps to raise the vibration around any difficulty. It may not solve the situation, however,  the mind opens to something new, a new approach, a new attitude and from here a more positive energy is born.

A lot of people who work with Law of Attraction can view doubt or hopelessness as “bad” energy. They begin to blame themselves becuase they have attracted the “bad” situation and so unconciouly scold themselves for thinking in “bad” ways. This will not help one bit and pushing oneself to feel good or become positive just makes the sitaution worse.

There is nothing wrong with experiencing doubt, hoplessness, sadness, or depression. These are all part of the one energy that is part of the human experience. The approach I recommend is to be actually grateful for the adversity knowing that in time things will change and a greater maturity and strength will come from this experience.

The attitude of gratitude is an enabler for forgiveness and  compassion to come forth. We are no longer trying to get rid of the pain or run away from it instead accepting the adversity with a grateful heart knowing in time things will improve.

I have read so many stories of people who have come from a hell situation to make it through and contribute to the world at large. People like Nelson Mandela and  Victor Frankl, a holocaust survivor who wrote Man´s search for meaning.

You don´t have to experience what these people went through except learn from their unique experiences in that each one looked for the good in the adverse situations they ended up in.

Handling adversity with gratitude is not only a gift you give yourself, it is also the enabler to help you move through set backs.

What you resist persists March 10, 2008

I have had experiences of setting some cool intentions only to find that the opposite starts to happen and things unravel for no apparent reason.

Working with the law of attraction when setting intentions is an art in itself in that you need to understand that energy responds to your intention and for many people an unconcious counter intention happens that can leave you confused if you are not aware of this dynamics of change.

For example, I have set an intention to create a substantial income and soon after the intention is set, the opposite has happened – money seems to go out, bigger bills show up and the clients I depended on for additional income dry up!

At first sight you would think that the Intention process is not working. What is actually happending is that a new context is being created to move me in the direction of creating more income. The job here is to not fight the opposing forces that seems to be pushing the intention away.

It is easier said than done, however, as soon as one resists the process it will continually persist until you make a decision to begin to open up to the situation and look for the clues and the opportunities for change and a new creation.

If you take Buddha´s teaching he said that you cannot have enlightenment without experiencing the darkness. In other words the darkness and delusion of the mind is the container for which enlightenment is possible. The Buddhist symbol for this is the lotus flower emerging from the mud.

Just like intentions, when you set them, embrace and allow the resistance to be there and then remind yourself where it is you are going with this and in time things will shift in your favour.

This is not about giving into resistance. It is more about allowing it to have its air space then remind yourself or change your focus and thinking to that which you are intending.

What is your purpose? March 7, 2008

In the personal development arena there is a big emphasis on working out what you want in life. This can be a major challenge for most people and most people know what they don´t want over what they do want.

I suggest an approach that takes one out of the “me” thinking or in other words deciding what you want coming from the level of the ego to a place that is deeper within each of us that knows what each of us wants.

The question you can pose is “what purpose does life want for me?”

The word above “life” could be reframed as “God” or higher awareness. It is from this place that life flows so much more gracefully and things take on a new meaning. We move from struggle to more flow, from fleeting success to long lasting success. Perhaps one´s definition of success will change based on this knowing and that knowing shows us or unfolds for us the purpose or purposes we came here to carry out. I believe we can have more than one purpose.

This process takes patience and sensitivity, however, if one can sustain this question for say 2 or 3 weeks, the unconscious or intuition will start showing you the right kind of information, people and experiences to enable you unfold that want that sits in your deeper self. Time alone or time in nature certainly helps to slow down the brainwave activity that enables the deeper part of ourselves to connect with the concious mind.

From a law of attraction perspective this means that you are aligned to the thing or things you want on a heart level as well as a mind level. With the heart and mind in agreement, your magnetism is natural and you pull to you opportunities that would otherwise remain distant from you.

If you get an inkling of what that may be, take small actions and keep referring back to your self for more of this knowing to come forth. If you feel “guided” to buy a book, do a course, visit a new part of the country then consider these as actions to show the “knowing” you are serious about finding out what your purpose is for you.
