Asking is powerful November 30, 2007

For most of us the ability to ask for things we want is a challenge and we can be our own worst enemies because we miss opportunities simply because we have not asked enough.
We have grown up to believe that it is wrong to ask, particularly to ask for too much.
Didn´t Jesus once say “ask and ye shall receive, knock on the door and it will open to you”
Taking this from a Quantum Thinking perspective, the Quantum Field has all the potential we can ever imagine and more in terms of our wants and desires so in essence it is given to us before we even ask! It is the field of all possibilities.
The thing is that we create roadblocks in our own minds which has come from past programming and is dressed up in aspects such as fear, low self esteem, guilt, pride and even ignorance, in other words we don´t know what to ask for.
If we ask for something that feels uncomfortable we may get rejected or abandoned.
Simple things like asking for a hug, to be listened to, to be touched in a certain way by your partner are things that we put off or we think our partner is psychic which in most cases they are not!
I heard of someone who was driving to another part of the country and was lost and did not want to ask for directions to a certain hotel as he did not want to appear as “lost” or “vulnerable”. It seems strange for some of us, however, the art of asking has been lost for most of us.
I spent many years in sales and over 80% of the sales people I worked with were afraid to ask for the order. Many sales people were great at getting the appointment, analysing the client´s needs, delivering a great presentation which pleased the client and failid on the last lap because they could not find it in themselves to say: “Can I have your order please”. So many lost opportunities not just for the sales person but also for the client.
This also goes for setting goals – we need to set a clear goal, decide we want it, know we deserve it and have the courage to go and claim it! With this the Law of Attraction is set in motion to respond to your request as it knows you are serious.
Asking is powerful when we fully understand its implications in our lives and from this knowing we can have virtually anything we want.
Action and the Law of Attraction November 29, 2007

There seems to be some confusion around the Law of Attraction and taking actions. I know people who visualise all day on the outcome they want, say cool affirmations and after about 2 months of this nothing shows up whatsoever.
There are three possible reasons for this. One is that what a person intends is not really what he or she really wants or is not excited about it. The second is that there may be some kind of resistance or inner subconscious sabotage going on and the third is that there has been little or no actions taken in the direction of the person´s goals.
I find that resistance prevents actions from taking place. Action is the bridge between the physical realm and the realm of the Quantum Field where your desire is already done and is ready to be delivered to you.
There is no magic pill about all of this. It is about feeling clear about what you want and moving in the direction of your goal. Make the phone call, send the email, drink one less cup of coffee a day. Start small steps and keep consistency of actions. It is not about taking massive actions and then getting burnt out in the process then stopping. It is more a steady movement in the direction of your dreams on a daily basis. Buddha refers to this as right action.
The great things about taking consistent action is that the Universe knows you are for real and will respond by delivering people, events and information as you keep moving forward. As Einstein once said “Nothing happens until something moves”.
Action and the Law of Attraction is a theme that people really need to take to heart. I may even write a book on it as there is so much to say about this.
The Law of Attraction works because it is a Law just like gravity. The issue lies more with the person who may well be holding back in taking appropriate daily action which in turn raises the vibration for the fulfilment of desire.
Only your mind can produce fear November 28, 2007

One of our biggest challenges in life is how we handle fear. Fear can stop us in our tracks, we sabotage our lives by settling for second best because of fear. We have the skills and the ability to start a new business or start a new life yet fear keeps us in our place. We are afraid to take a risk, make a mistake, we fear failure and even success.
When our decisions come from a place of fear we attract more of the same kind of circumstances. Fear has many disguises: stress, anxiety, worry, procrastination, over thinking, and nervousness.
Most of our fears can come from the negative, painful and shameful experiences of our childhood so we become afraid to participate, afraid to go after those things we truly want or desire. We become afraid of rejection, being abandoned, being punished, looking stupid, and being vulnerable and hurt by others.
I could go on about this however I think I have made the point that fear runs our lives until we make adjustments to our thinking.
Only your mind can produce fear means that you make up the fears based on past programming and future thinking or anticipation. Fear can be defined as False Evidence Appearing Real. It seems so real, however have you noticed that when you act in spite of fear, fear seems to take a back seat?
Or have you noticed that when you are really in the present moment enjoying yourself, forgetting about your worries, in that moment fear has gone?
There are only two fundamental emotions: Fear and Love. The first one is an illusion and made up and the other is real. We have to shift our thinking and work with the power of love or compassion when fear is in our lives. By allowing fear to be present, by acknowledging it we are in fact bringing compassion into the situation to help diffuse the energy.
There is no point resisting fear because according the the Law of Attraction that which you resist persists.
I suggest that when you have fears showing up know they have to be allowed, embraced through compassion and then move forward in spite of the fear. A book title by Susan Jeffers sums it up so well Feel the fear and do it anyway
As fears are always going to be showing up in our lives as we move out of our comfort zones we have to work with the fears and keep walking coming from a place of love, courage and doing what we want to do anyway.
Money from debt November 27, 2007

I recently saw a compelling education film on how banks create money from debt which I have attached in this article below.
It dawned on me that if money equals debts rather than money equals value then from a Quantum Thinking or Attraction perspective, if the banks and people have that as an underlying intention, the money system bubble will burst as we get what we persistently observe.
Basically banks have the power to create money based on the borrower´s promise to repay. The whole money system and circulation is based on banks needing to perpetually keep issuing loans to people. Historically banks offered loans based on a ratio of gold assets, for example for every $1 of gold $10 could be loaned out. Today that system is not being adhered to and that new debts are created based on the existing debt that is already in the economy.
We are witnessing roller coaster times in the financial and real estate markets and the banks are now handing out less loans as people are anxious about borrowing more money for new investments. Is the world financial bubble about to burst?
I believe that we are living in an old paradigm based on Newtonian thinking: what is in it for me thinking. A new thinking model needs to be looked at and soon. I suggest we need to perceive money as a form of value and appreciation. A new perception has to be adopted by people, banks and commerce. This new paradigm thinking will be considered when things get worse. Normally we need a crisis to wake up to new ways of thinking and being so why not on a global scale?
New models of the financial and business world are required as we witness some major shifts in the global financial world. This requires an embracing of new thought processes and new behaviours. It is going to take time for all this to change.
If you have 47 minutes to spare, take a look at this Money from debt clip on how banks create money from debt. The clip does offer solutions to this by changing our perceptions around money.
Persistence is key to success November 27, 2007

Persistence is key to any form of success or manifestation. We read that the Law of Attraction is about thoughts becoming things in your life. However, just thinking about something will not be enough to make it a reality.
Continuous persistence with your actions will raise the vibration behind your thoughts and so the likelihood of success is increased one hundred fold. First you must have a clear goal or intention and then on a persistent daily basis persistently give attention to your goal and take the actions necessary.
One of the biggest causes of failure is not the creating of the goal or action plan but more the fact that the sustained effort is missing and so many people´s dreams are just dreams in the end.
The development of persistence is really the development of a habit. To quote from Napleon Hill in his book Think and Grow Rich ..
For those who have cultivated the habit of persistence seem to enjoy insurance against failure. No matter how many times they are defeated, they finally rise up towards the top of the ladder. Sometimes it appears there is a hidden Guide whose duty it is to test men through all sorts of discouraging experiences. Those who pick themsleves up after defeat and keep on trying, arrive and the world cried “Bravo! I knew you could do it!” The hidden guide lets no one enjoy great achievment without passing the persistence test. Those who can´t make it simply do not make the grade. Those who take it are bountifully rewarded for their persistence.
I recall a number of years ago I went through a very painful time in my life emotionally and I decided to learn meditation by attending a Buddhist monastery for instruction. The Abbot of the monastery was highly respected and had been on the path for over 40 years. He inspired me to meditate on a daily basis. Months passed and the emotional pain seemed to stick with me and would not go away. I returned to the monastery and met the Abbot and explained my dilema that things just did not seem to be moving for me even after months of daily meditation.
Now Buddhist teachers don´t really talk that much and he he simply said to me “sustain your practice”. In other words persist even though nothing was happening. I decided to keep going and I had some important breakthroughs and it was thanks to the advise of the Buddhist monk and the quality of personal persistence I broke through.
Persistence is key to success and worth thinking about if you are being challenged right now.
What to do when stuck November 26, 2007
Posted by jameskilgarriff in Law of Attraction.add a comment
What to do when stuck in life is a tough one for many of us. I have experienced the feeling of being stuck and as hard as I tried I could not get get out of this feeling of restriction.
If you apply the Law of Attraction thinking to this: you are giving energy and attention to stuckness or worries that may be coming from the past or present that the energy surrounding them vibrates so much faster than the rest of your world that you only see them and the peace of your inner world eludes you.
There could be a number of reason for this. Unconsciously you could be enjoying worrying about the problems in your life or you may be caught in some emotional entanglement with someone. Those types of things keep you stuck and you do not see the rest of your life flowing.
Find a way to soften your response to situations in your life. Be willing to let go of the tight control over events and people in your life. One way is to find times of silence and allow the stream of thoughts around your life situation to dissolve in that moment. Keep going to a place of silence either through meditation, prayer or simply doing things that quieten your mind, for example walking by the beach.
You could do something radically different to break an ongoing routine. This is called a pattern interrupt which means you break your routine by doing something very different like getting up at 5.30am and going for a run certain mornings of the week, or decide to paint as you have not done this in years.
Another way could be to ask yourself some letting go questions such as..
Could I welcome this situation and these feelings?
Am I willing I let go of wanting to change or control this situation?
When I am willing to let go?
The first step to letting go is to welcome or embrace a feeling of stuckness. Even if your answer to any of the above is “No” you are in the process of letting go. Letting go is the key to unblocking the energy paths within you that keeps you stuck.
Keep asking the questions above and it may be useful to write down what life will be like for you as if you are if flow. Imagine what that would look like, how would you feel, what would you be doing. Imagination is a powerfully ally. I believe it is god given so we may as well put it to good use.
What to do when stuck can be summarised in the following way..
1. Welcome the feeling of stuckness and know that it is a signal to start letting go
2. Go to silence, and or ask the letting go questions above
3. Use your imagination to see and feel a life of flow and act as if it is in the process of changing.
The important things in your life November 25, 2007

Are you focused on the important things in your life?
I recall a story a coaching friend shared with me about how we can use our precious time sweating on the small stuff of life and leaving the important aspects of our lives on hold or putting in second place. She used the metaphor of placing pebbles, rocks and sand in a jar.
When applying the Law of Attraction to this – if you place your attention on the small stuff in your life you will attract into your life the small things and you will not have time to spend on the important areas of your life.
Imagine a large jar which represents your life in terms of time and energy. You place in the jar many, many pebbles. Then you reach for a bag of sand and you fill most of the jar with the sand and the sand fills the spaces in between the pebbles.
You then have say 4 rocks and you make an attempt to place the rocks in the jar and you can just manage to place one rock in the jar because the pebbles and the sand take up more than 90% of the jar. The remaining rocks are left out of the jar. In other words the important areas of your life have been excluded as a result of sweating on the small stuff and less important areas of your life.
The attraction law responds to how you think and the actions you take. The metaphor of the jar is a simple illustration to get clear on the important things. You could even think of the jar representing the Law of Attraction in that the Law responds to what you are putting in to the jar.
Now imagine yourself emptying the jar of pebbles and sand and starting again. This time you place your 4 rocks in the jar. One rock could be a dream you want to make a reality, the other is your health, another is your partner or family and so on.
You then can place the pebbles ( the less important stuff) in the jar which fills the spaces around the rocks then the sand is placed in the jar which again fills the gaps between the rocks and the pebbles. You are now placing attention and focus on what is important to you which is what makes your life more fulfilling.
The key here is Put in the Big Rocks First!
It is so easy to get caught up in the small stuff that we lose perspective of what our dreams are and what will make us happy.
I challenge you to consider this jar metaphor and start thinking about the important things in your life (the rocks) and focus on these above all the other demands and obligations in your life.
If you have any feedback on this I would be pleased to receive it.
leveraging your time using Parkinson´s Law November 24, 2007

For nearly every person reading this article, wasting time on unimportant tasks can take us over leaving us to fall behind on what is important our success and accomplishment.
Inefficient use of time can become a habit. Leveraging your time by managing it is also a habit – a skillfull habit. Napoleon Hill refers to this as the Law of Cosmic Habit Force. Meaning that when a habit is repeated over and over again, the cosmic laws take over and you start living the habit unconsciously.
It is really the same as the Law of Attraction that when you think and believe a task will take say 8 hours to complete then that becomes your truth and you get the task done in 8 hours. What if it could be done in 4 hours?
When I think about how I operate in terms of important deadlines or definite end points to complete a task, I seem to pull out all the stops and get the work done. So if I am given a report to write within 48 hours and it has a high value for me I somehow get the thing complete and my intensity is fully focused on its completion. If I am given the same report to write and there is no specific endpoint, I tend to meander and waste time going off on many tangents and the quality of the output can actually decline for me.
I recently read about Parkinson´s Law that states..
“Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion”
As quoted from Tim Ferris´book, The 4 Hour Work Week…
“If I give you 24 hours to complete a project, the time pressure forces you to focus on the execution, and you have no choice but to to do only the bare essentials. If I give you a week to complete the same task, it´s six days of making a mountain out of a molehill. If I give you 2 months, God forbid, it becomes a mental monster.
The end product of the shorter deadline is almost inevitably of equal or higher quality due to greater focus”.
This is really worth thinking about and I suggest you create a habit or setting it up in your mind the importance of your key tasks or projects that will bring you success. Set deadlines so as to intensely focus on it´s completion which in turn will bring out the best in you producing higher quality output.
Letter from Chief Seattle November 23, 2007

I represent a Peace NGO, Avalon Project, in Spain. We are committed to bringing into our local communities principles for a sustainable future based on the UN Earth Charter.
A spiritual revolution is happening at great speed where people have an intuition that our perception of the world and the way we live has to change like NOW. We have very little time.
Chief Seattle wrote the attached letter in the 1800´s in response to the American government´s offer to purchase tribal land. The letter´s message and impact is strong and although there are viewpoints that the letter may have been inaccurate, the message is nonetheless appropriate for the current situation that is happening on our planet.
We have to think more in terms of respect for all people and for the world and environment we live in which accurately reflects the Earth Charter´s principles for a Culture of Peace in the world in the 21st century.
Here is the letter from Chief Seattle:
“The President in Washington sends word that he wishes to buy our land. But how can you buy or sell the sky? the land? The idea is strange to us. If we do not own the freshness of the air and the sparkle of the water, how can you buy them?
Every part of the earth is sacred to my people. Every shining pine needle, every sandy shore, every mist in the dark woods, every meadow, every humming insect. All are holy in the memory and experience of my people.
We know the sap which courses through the trees as we know the blood that courses through our veins. We are part of the earth and it is part of us. The perfumed flowers are our sisters. The bear, the deer, the great eagle, these are our brothers. The rocky crests, the dew in the meadow, the body heat of the pony, and man all belong to the same family.
The shining water that moves in the streams and rivers is not just water, but the blood of our ancestors. If we sell you our land, you must remember that it is sacred. Each glossy reflection in the clear waters of the lakes tells of events and memories in the life of my people. The water’s murmur is the voice of my father’s father.
The rivers are our brothers. They quench our thirst. They carry our canoes and feed our children. So you must give the rivers the kindness that you would give any brother.
If we sell you our land, remember that the air is precious to us, that the air shares its spirit with all the life that it supports. The wind that gave our grandfather his first breath also received his last sigh. The wind also gives our children the spirit of life. So if we sell our land, you must keep it apart and sacred, as a place where man can go to taste the wind that is sweetened by the meadow flowers.
Will you teach your children what we have taught our children? That the earth is our mother? What befalls the earth befalls all the sons of the earth.
This we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.
One thing we know: our God is also your God. The earth is precious to him and to harm the earth is to heap contempt on its creator.
Your destiny is a mystery to us. What will happen when the buffalo are all slaughtered? The wild horses tamed? What will happen when the secret corners of the forest are heavy with the scent of many men and the view of the ripe hills is blotted with talking wires? Where will the thicket be? Gone! Where will the eagle be? Gone! And what is to say goodbye to the swift pony and then hunt? The end of living and the beginning of survival.
When the last red man has vanished with this wilderness, and his memory is only the shadow of a cloud moving across the prairie, will these shores and forests still be here? Will there be any of the spirit of my people left?
We love this earth as a newborn loves its mother’s heartbeat. So, if we sell you our land, love it as we have loved it. Care for it, as we have cared for it. Hold in your mind the memory of the land as it is when you receive it. Preserve the land for all children, and love it, as God loves us.
As we are part of the land, you too are part of the land. This earth is precious to us. It is also precious to you.
One thing we know – there is only one God. No man, be he Red man or White man, can be apart. We ARE all brothers after all.”
Where do Ahas! come from? November 22, 2007
Posted by jameskilgarriff in Law of Attraction, Quantum Physics.Quantum Thinking.add a comment
The answer to where do Ahas! come from may be an obvious question for many of us and for others it can be a profound one.
You may be driving in the car and you get flashes of ideas or inspirations without really knowing where they come from. You may say they come from your mind. If so, why at that particular moment of inspiration did you get that specific thought or idea to say create a new product or invent something new?
Flashes like these can come from asking a question over and over again like saying “what is the solution to this problem”. You may do research, find out, ask questions, read certain books and you reach a point of just letting it all go maybe through frustration or tiredness and as if by magic the AHA! or solution just pops into your mind. You don´t know how the answer came about but there it is!
Did that come from you or through you? I would suggest that thoughts come through you.
To quote from a book that was ahead of its time: Stalking the Wild Pendulum by Itzhak Bentov written 30 years ago..
“Such moments of insight are known to come after a person has saturated himself with detailed knowledge of all possible avenues that may lead to a solution of his problem. However, all he has is a clutter of detail with no elegant and economical pattern connecting them. Then suddenly, in a moment of relaxation, when least expected, it is as if the sky has opened for a second, and the solution to the problem comes. It is received as a chunk, all of it, all details visible and fitting together in an elegant order”
What Bentov is pointing to here that is a relaxed moment and when the mind is not busy in any problem, it touches the intuitive level of the mind.
Bentov goes onto say…
“Here the unit of conciousness saw the solution since solutions to all problems are already present in a space like universe… this is Nature´s way in communicating with its favourite creatures, the creative people of all walks of life”
30 years on, we are more familiar with Quantum Physics, and I suggest here that the Quantum Field of energy holds all the information and solutions to all questions before we even ask!
Our unconscious or intuition is able to access this Field beyond our concious awareness.
I mentioned earlier that thoughts come though us and to quote Bentov again..
“I suggest, therefore, that our brain is not the source but a thought amplified … it is the function of the brain to amplify this signal for us into a useful form”
Where do Ahas! come from? Good question.
