The Earth Charter

The creation of The Avalon Project, Initiative for a Culture of Peace, of which I am a member, stemmed from the information set out in the Earth Charter which is now being used as the discussion document by institutions, companies, governments and communities around the world.

It is a Declaration that suggest we as a world begin to change our values, beliefs and perceptions towards a more sustainable future.

Attached is a full outline of the Earth Charter and more information can be found at the official Earth Charter web site site. If you scroll to the bottom you will see a 10 minute video on the Earth Charter and what people around the world are doing to apply its principles

The Earth Charter……

… is a declaration of fundamental principles for building a just, sustainable, and peaceful global society for the 21st century. Created by the largest global consultation process ever associated with an international declaration, endorsed by thousands of organizations representing millions of people, the Earth Charter seeks to inspire a sense of global interdependence and shared responsibility for the well-being of the human family and the living world. The Charter is an expression of hope and a call to global partnership at this critical time in history.

The Official Earth Charter

PREAMBLE

We stand at a critical moment in Earth’s history, a time when humanity must choose its future. As the world becomes increasingly interdependent and fragile, the future at once holds great peril and great promise. To move forward we must recognize that in the midst of a magnificent diversity of cultures and life forms we are one human family and one Earth community with a common destiny. We must join together to bring forth a sustainable global society founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace. Towards this end, it is imperative that we, the peoples of Earth, declare our responsibility to one another, to the greater community of life, and to future generations.

Earth, Our Home
Humanity is part of a vast evolving universe. Earth, our home, is alive with a unique community of life. The forces of nature make existence a demanding and uncertain adventure, but Earth has provided the conditions essential to life’s evolution. The resilience of the community of life and the well-being of humanity depend upon preserving a healthy biosphere with all its ecological systems, a rich variety of plants and animals, fertile soils, pure waters, and clean air. The global environment with its finite resources is a common concern of all peoples. The protection of Earth’s vitality, diversity, and beauty is a sacred trust.

The Global Situation
The dominant patterns of production and consumption are causing environmental devastation, the depletion of resources, and a massive extinction of species. Communities are being undermined. The benefits of development are not shared equitably and the gap between rich and poor is widening. Injustice, poverty, ignorance, and violent conflict are widespread and the cause of great suffering. An unprecedented rise in human population has overburdened ecological and social systems. The foundations of global security are threatened. These trends are perilous—but not inevitable.

The Challenges Ahead
The choice is ours: form a global partnership to care for Earth and one another or risk the destruction of ourselves and the diversity of life. Fundamental changes are needed in our values, institutions, and ways of living. We must realize that when basic needs have been met, human development is primarily about being more, not having more. We have the knowledge and technology to provide for all and to reduce our impacts on the environment. The emergence of a global civil society is creating new opportunities to build a democratic and humane world. Our environmental, economic, political, social, and spiritual challenges are interconnected, and together we can forge inclusive solutions.

Universal Responsibility
To realize these aspirations, we must decide to live with a sense of universal responsibility, identifying ourselves with the whole Earth community as well as our local communities. We are at once citizens of different nations and of one world in which the local and global are linked. Everyone shares responsibility for the present and future well-being of the human family and the larger living world. The spirit of human solidarity and kinship with all life is strengthened when we live with reverence for the mystery of being, gratitude for the gift of life, and humility regarding the human place in nature.

We urgently need a shared vision of basic values to provide an ethical foundation for the emerging world community. Therefore, together in hope we affirm the following interdependent principles for a sustainable way of life as a common standard by which the conduct of all individuals, organizations, businesses, governments, and transnational institutions is to be guided and assessed.

PRINCIPLES

I. RESPECT AND CARE FOR THE COMMUNITY OF LIFE

1. Respect Earth and life in all its diversity.
a. Recognize that all beings are interdependent and every form of life has value regardless of its worth to human beings.
b. Affirm faith in the inherent dignity of all human beings and in the intellectual, artistic, ethical, and spiritual potential of humanity.

2. Care for the community of life with understanding, compassion, and love.
a. Accept that with the right to own, manage, and use natural resources comes the duty to prevent environmental harm and to protect the rights of people.
b. Affirm that with increased freedom, knowledge, and power comes increased responsibility to promote the common good.

3. Build democratic societies that are just, participatory, sustainable, and peaceful.
a. Ensure that communities at all levels guarantee human rights and fundamental freedoms and provide everyone an opportunity to realize his or her full potential.
b. Promote social and economic justice, enabling all to achieve a secure and meaningful livelihood that is ecologically responsible.

4. Secure Earth’s bounty and beauty for present and future generations.
a. Recognize that the freedom of action of each generation is qualified by the needs of future generations.
b. Transmit to future generations values, traditions, and institutions that support the long-term flourishing of Earth’s human and ecological communities.

In order to fulfill these four broad commitments, it is necessary to:

II. ECOLOGICAL INTEGRITY

5. Protect and restore the integrity of Earth’s ecological systems, with special concern for biological diversity and the natural processes that sustain life.
a. Adopt at all levels sustainable development plans and regulations that make environmental conservation and rehabilitation integral to all development initiatives.
b. Establish and safeguard viable nature and biosphere reserves, including wild lands and marine areas, to protect Earth’s life support systems, maintain biodiversity, and preserve our natural heritage.
c. Promote the recovery of endangered species and ecosystems.
d. Control and eradicate non-native or genetically modified organisms harmful to native species and the environment, and prevent introduction of such harmful organisms.
e. Manage the use of renewable resources such as water, soil, forest products, and marine life in ways that do not exceed rates of regeneration and that protect the health of ecosystems.
f. Manage the extraction and use of non-renewable resources such as minerals and fossil fuels in ways that minimize depletion and cause no serious environmental damage.

6. Prevent harm as the best method of environmental protection and, when knowledge is limited, apply a precautionary approach.
a. Take action to avoid the possibility of serious or irreversible environmental harm even when scientific knowledge is incomplete or inconclusive.
b. Place the burden of proof on those who argue that a proposed activity will not cause significant harm, and make the responsible parties liable for environmental harm.
c. Ensure that decision making addresses the cumulative, long-term, indirect, long distance, and global consequences of human activities.
d. Prevent pollution of any part of the environment and allow no build-up of radioactive, toxic, or other hazardous substances.
e. Avoid military activities damaging to the environment.

7. Adopt patterns of production, consumption, and reproduction that safeguard Earth’s regenerative capacities, human rights, and community well-being.
a. Reduce, reuse, and recycle the materials used in production and consumption systems, and ensure that residual waste can be assimilated by ecological systems.
b. Act with restraint and efficiency when using energy, and rely increasingly on renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.
c. Promote the development, adoption, and equitable transfer of environmentally sound technologies.
d. Internalize the full environmental and social costs of goods and services in the selling price, and enable consumers to identify products that meet the highest social and environmental standards.
e. Ensure universal access to health care that fosters reproductive health and responsible reproduction.
f. Adopt lifestyles that emphasize the quality of life and material sufficiency in a finite world.

8. Advance the study of ecological sustainability and promote the open exchange and wide application of the knowledge acquired.
a. Support international scientific and technical cooperation on sustainability, with special attention to the needs of developing nations.
b. Recognize and preserve the traditional knowledge and spiritual wisdom in all cultures that contribute to environmental protection and human well-being.
c. Ensure that information of vital importance to human health and environmental protection, including genetic information, remains available in the public domain.

III. SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE

9. Eradicate poverty as an ethical, social, and environmental imperative.
a. Guarantee the right to potable water, clean air, food security, uncontaminated soil, shelter, and safe sanitation, allocating the national and international resources required.
b. Empower every human being with the education and resources to secure a sustainable livelihood, and provide social security and safety nets for those who are unable to support themselves.
c. Recognize the ignored, protect the vulnerable, serve those who suffer, and enable them to develop their capacities and to pursue their aspirations.

10. Ensure that economic activities and institutions at all levels promote human development in an equitable and sustainable manner.
a. Promote the equitable distribution of wealth within nations and among nations.
b. Enhance the intellectual, financial, technical, and social resources of developing nations, and relieve them of onerous international debt.
c. Ensure that all trade supports sustainable resource use, environmental protection, and progressive labor standards.
d. Require multinational corporations and international financial organizations to act transparently in the public good, and hold them accountable for the consequences of their activities.

11. Affirm gender equality and equity as prerequisites to sustainable development and ensure universal access to education, health care, and economic opportunity.
a. Secure the human rights of women and girls and end all violence against them.
b. Promote the active participation of women in all aspects of economic, political, civil, social, and cultural life as full and equal partners, decision makers, leaders, and beneficiaries.
c. Strengthen families and ensure the safety and loving nurture of all family members.

12. Uphold the right of all, without discrimination, to a natural and social environment supportive of human dignity, bodily health, and spiritual well-being, with special attention to the rights of indigenous peoples and minorities.
a. Eliminate discrimination in all its forms, such as that based on race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, language, and national, ethnic or social origin.
b. Affirm the right of indigenous peoples to their spirituality, knowledge, lands and resources and to their related practice of sustainable livelihoods.
c. Honor and support the young people of our communities, enabling them to fulfill their essential role in creating sustainable societies.
d. Protect and restore outstanding places of cultural and spiritual significance.

IV. DEMOCRACY, NONVIOLENCE, AND PEACE

13. Strengthen democratic institutions at all levels, and provide transparency and accountability in governance, inclusive participation in decision making, and access to justice.
a. Uphold the right of everyone to receive clear and timely information on environmental matters and all development plans and activities which are likely to affect them or in which they have an interest.
b. Support local, regional and global civil society, and promote the meaningful participation of all interested individuals and organizations in decision making.
c. Protect the rights to freedom of opinion, expression, peaceful assembly, association, and dissent.
d. Institute effective and efficient access to administrative and independent judicial procedures, including remedies and redress for environmental harm and the threat of such harm.
e. Eliminate corruption in all public and private institutions.

d. Eliminate nuclear, biological, and toxic weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.
e. Ensure that the use of orbital and outer space supports environmental protection and peace.
f. Recognize that peace is the wholeness created by right relationships with oneself, other persons, other cultures, other life, Earth, and the larger whole of which all are a part.

THE WAY FORWARD

As never before in history, common destiny beckons us to seek a new beginning. Such renewal is the promise of these Earth Charter principles. To fulfill this promise, we must commit ourselves to adopt and promote the values and objectives of the Charter.

This requires a change of mind and heart. It requires a new sense of global interdependence and universal responsibility. We must imaginatively develop and apply the vision of a sustainable way of life locally, nationally, regionally, and globally. Our cultural diversity is a precious heritage and different cultures will find their own distinctive ways to realize the vision. We must deepen and expand the global dialogue that generated the Earth Charter, for we have much to learn from the ongoing collaborative search for truth and wisdom.

Life often involves tensions between important values. This can mean difficult choices. However, we must find ways to harmonize diversity with unity, the exercise of freedom with the common good, short-term objectives with long-term goals. Every individual, family, organization, and community has a vital role to play. The arts, sciences, religions, educational institutions, media, businesses, nongovernmental organizations, and governments are all called to offer creative leadership. The partnership of government, civil society, and business is essential for effective governance.

In order to build a sustainable global community, the nations of the world must renew their commitment to the United Nations, fulfill their obligations under existing international agreements, and support the implementation of Earth Charter principles with an international legally binding instrument on environment and development.

Let ours be a time remembered for the awakening of a new reverence for life, the firm resolve to achieve sustainability, the quickening of the struggle for justice and peace, and the joyful celebration of life.

Peace Project – Culture of Peace in the World October 31, 2007

I came to Spain over 4 years ago to help set up a Peace Project which forms its base on the Earth Charter. This idea has been forming in the minds of the Peace Group members for 15 years.

I do believe that Peace is an idea who´s time has come and hence my choice to get involved with this and contribute in some way.

What is the Earth Charter:

The Earth Charter is a widely recognized, global consensus statement on ethics and values for a sustainable future. Developed over a period of ten years, in what has been called the most extensive global consultation process ever associated with an international declaration, the Earth Charter has been formally endorsed by over 2,500 organizations, including global institutions such as UNESCO and the World Conservation Union (IUCN).

The Earth Charter Introduction states..

The Peace NGO of which I am part of is the Avalon Project – Initiative for a Culture of Peace. Currently the web site is in Spanish, however, you will get a good idea of what we are doing here in Spain.

The Culture of Peace initiative came from UNESCO´s Manifesto 2000 and the principles of the Manifesto 2000 are a shortened version of the Earth Charter.

The Avalon Project´s aim are very much based on the principles of the Earth Charter. The main principles include:

I. RESPECT AND CARE FOR THE COMMUNITY OF LIFE

II. ECOLOGICAL INTEGRITY

III. SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE

IV. DEMOCRACY, NONVIOLENCE, AND PEACE

The Avalon Project has a membership of over 200 members who are spread in various cities around Spain and meet frequently to create initiatives for locally based peace Initiatives.

An important focus for us is the development of the individual´s inner dimension so that members have the resources to grow and evolve and so act and live as examples of Peace enablers.

The key is about evolving the individual first before we consider affecting the external world. Right now we are forming groups of educators for peace, we are working with ecological and social projects projects. Also we have a musical and theatrical aspect to the project and our objective is to create musicals that can be diffused to a wide audience as the medium of music affects people at profound levels.

We work also with all the core religious traditions as well as embrace the scientific aspects of thinking using Quantum Physics. We see a clear role where the Quantum Physics view is a neutral element which potentially provides a common thread between the core spiritual traditions in ways that foster the best aspects from each religion.

The theme of peace and conflict resolution is sweeping the world as people everywhere want sustainable solutions. Peace is an idea whose time has come.

The paradigm shift – creativity in business October 31, 2007

Sir Ken Robinson who has advised international Governments and Global 500 companies and now is advisor to J Paul Getty Trusts in Los Angelis has summed up creativity and innovation in businesses in the following way:

“Your organization has to find new ways to succeed in a world that is changing faster than ever before. For all of us, long-term success will depend more and more on continuous creativity and consistent innovation”.

Our creative abilities which we all have, needs to come forward as the future is uncertain and no-one knows what things will look like in 5 or 10 years from now.

The creative types of people where frowned upon in the past and priority has always been given to the scientific and economic subjects in schools and businesses.

We are now witnessing a major shift in the way we do business and words such as “competition” is being replaced by words of “cooperation” as values are changing in the business world. Companies with a mindset of an Enron will not be around within 5 years.

A conciousness shift in business is happening whether we like it or not.

I mentioned in an earlier article that the current Newtonian way of living and experiencing the world is shifting quickly to a new paradigm and the Quantum Physics model seems to be pointing to this new way of thinking.

Big business mindset is based the Newtonian approach of predictability and certainty and so do not respond well to change. The employees can serve in a passive way in terms of the production and output they give. There is also a major emphasis on control which isolates these organisations from their environments and employees. As a result the very natural creative types leave the organisation as they feel “different” from the rest who have chosen to conform to the status quo.

I am not saying that all companies are like this, however, the majority are as I have witnessed this pattern of thinking working for 3 large corporations.

The new paradigm could well embrace a Quantum Thinking model which nurtures creativity and innovation. To work with this model we have to put aside our fears of making mistakes. From an early age we have been trained to believe that it is wrong to mess up. Creativity requires experimentation and trial and error thinking.

Quantum thinking is looks at many possibilities for solutions as some or all could be correct. Also I believe both models have to be integrated. Take the best of the Newtonian model and leave the rest and integrate with a workable Quantum model.

Taking this on will not happen overnight, however, we have to start looking at new ways and systems as the world is moving at such a fast pace. If we do not change our business systems, many of us will not be around as a thriving business in a few years time.

I have outlined out the Newtonian Model and the Quantum model and I believe its not a one for another. Its a marriage of both into an organic and sustainable system.

Newtonian model

Certainty, predictability, win/lose, competition, hierarchy, fragmented labour functions, power comes from the top, employees are passive producers, inflexible, red tape structures, efficiency and profits at any cost, top down (reactive), rigid boundaries, conflict and control, rules bound environment, rely on stability, weak in dealing with change, dampens down unexpected.

Quantum model

unpredictability, win/win, collaboration while in competition, flat networks, multifunctional and holistic labour, power emanated from the center, employees are creative proactive players, flexible structures, value added relationship building and service mindset, bottom up (experimental) operation, flexible boundaries, openness and dialogue, no set framework for rules, open to change, embraces change in open way, thrives on unexpected

In summary, its not an either or scenario. Both models need to be looked at and through trial and error the quantum thinking model will need to replace many aspects of the Newtonian model. I am sure there will be a price to pay to make this shift, however, the price may well be well worth paying if we are to survive an unpredictable future.

The Power of Imagination October 30, 2007

Einstein was quoted as saying “Imagination is more important than knowledge”.

From this one insight we can accept that the imagination is one of our most powerful allies as long as we use it and use it often.

Most people do not use or want to use a God given power house and if we put it to use and get into the practice of using the imagination every day our world will change in the most remarkable ways.

Imagination involves more than most of us think. What follows is a list of aspects of imagination and we can choose to use all or some of these aspects:

Seeing, touching, feelings and emotions, movements, sounds, smells and fragrances, tastes, thoughts and intuiting

Lets do a quick imagination exercise…..

Imagine you are in a beautiful garden.

What can you see? What are you wearing? What are you holding? Who is with you? What sounds can you hear as you stand or walk? If you are walking is it at a slow pace or a faster pace? Where are you heading in the garden? Are birds singing? Is the wind blowing gently or is the air still? What kind of temperature is it? What does the sky look and feel like? Can you smell the fragrances of the nearby flowers? What colours are the flowers and plants? How many trees if any do you see or intuit is in the garden? Who else is in the garden or is it just yourself? If there are people are they talking and if so what do you sense they are discussing?

You see how potentially powerful this can be when you apply it to say attracting a new home, a new car, a relationship, a business partnership, improved health, an improved connection with your intuition and so on.

Imagine the end result. Surround yourself with the imaginary conditions you wish to produce despite what the mind says. Give doubt a vacation for 10 minutes and tell it to come back later! We will be covering handling resistance and doubt later.

As with all things the imagination requires effort. One time a week isn’t going to get you far. Start with one high priority intention or goal and give it 10 minutes a day and then build this to say 20 minutes a day.

People have different modes of imagining. If you are someone who does not see in pictures, but you feel things out for example then don’t worry, simply feel or sense what the end result is. This is all about working with what feels right for you. Feelings attached to the outcome you want will supercharge the energy and the Quantum Field will respond by giving you more of the same.

I suggest you do all this gently and ease into it. New habits take time to cultivate and so patience and effort are key ingredients. I can personally report that this way of thinking and living requires that you be patient and forgiving of yourself. So if it appears it is not working as quickly as you would like, don’t beat yourself up. In time things will start clicking for you.

What have vibrations got to do with the Law of Attraction? October 30, 2007

add a comment

We live in a vibrational universe and so everything we think, feel and say has a vibration to it. In quantum physics, sub atomic particles are in effect frequencies or fields of resonance.

When vibrations are mentioned in the Law of Attraction, vibrations refer to a mood or a feeling. So when we say someone has “good vibes” we are actually connecting with that person at a feeling level. The same goes for places. I can enter an office and pick up the good or bad vibes which is a result of people´s thoughts and feelings.

There are two types of vibrations: positive and negative.

Positive vibrations are joy, gratitude, happiness, forgiveness, openess, excitement, feelings of trust and so forth.

Negative vibrations are hate, anger, envy, sadness, resentment, apathy and so forth.

When are you sending out a vibration?

Well, the answer is now, and now and now. You are always sending out a vibration and the law of attraction goes to work to match your vibration and gives you more of the same. It´s important to become aware of what you are feeling in the moment. In that moment of awareness you can choose to stay with the vibration you have or switch it to a more favourable vibration.

At the beginning this is a job in itself and also you don´t spend your whole day checking in on how you feel otherwise you would go crazy.

Its a question of asking yourself in certain times “how am I feeling right now?” or “how does this business deal feel”. You will begin to make choices from this point.

If the business deal does not feel right and something is telling you to hold fire then follow this and check out if the “vibes” of the deal, the new business venture fits what you are expecting from this new partnership.

If you are feeling anger or resentment you can make the intention: “I intend to shift this vibration to forgiveness”.

Negative vibrations tend to be slower energies whereas positive vibrations are much faster. So if you set an intention to change your job and you are filled with resentment, the change process will seem long and painful. If want to change your job because of how you feel, start sending out thoughts of thanks to the people and environment for the fact the job has served you up to this point and that you are opening to job prospects.

In the Law of Attraction all this comes down to one thing:

I get what I vibrate

Happiness and the Law of Attraction October 30, 2007

Posted by jameskilgarriff in Law of Attraction.
1 comment so far

We are all striving for happiness and its the very nature of our being.

We are also goal seeking beings who need purpose and movement in order to create.

For many of us, if we strive to get that new car, the new house, the new relationship or better looking body we think we will be happy.

Its like saying “I will be happy when I get 10,000 a month and the new house”

There is no doubt that you will feel happier when you get these things, however, if your happiness is dependent on “having” you realise that its all transitory. One is forever trying to get somewhere or something in order to be happy.

This may come across as out of line for many readers that happiness is a decision.

We actually choose to be unhappy based on the way we learned how to operate in the world from a very early age. I can convince myself that if I have no money, no job then logically I have to be unhappy and miserable. In some way I may think that being miserable will somehow make things better.

It´s not what happens to you but how you respond to what happens to you

According to the law of attraction if I choose to feel miserable, I will get more of the same vibration of feeling miserable. Energy follows thought.

Happiness and peace is a NOW experience. It´s also a NOW choice. Attraction can only happen in the NOW.

Also be careful when you set goals and intentions and do all this visualisation stuff. To much visualisation can take you out of the present moment and it could be a way of distracting you from the feelings you are feeling right now.

When we look too far into the future based on the goals we set we can actually miss the miracles that happen on a daily basis, minute by minute basis.

If we are felling unhappy now, embrace that feeling. Be with it and don ´t fight it. Set an intention: “I intend to be at ease and feel good in spite of feeling unhappy right now”.

The more we focus on aspects of feeling good, reminding ourselves of the blessings we have, being grateful for the smallest of things then our lives start to shift for the better.

This starts with a decision and that decision can begin NOW.

Be grateful now, count your blessings now, have some fun now – happiness is a decision.

Taking Action and Law of Attraction October 30, 2007

Working with the Law of Attraction is not an excuse to not take action.

Some people think that when they get clear on what they want, they visualise, write intentions down and perhaps do a story board. These are all part of raising one´s vibration, however, there is an important and vital part needed to bring things into material form.

I get clients saying “I have got clear on what I want, visualised for 2 weeks and nothing is happening”

I ask: “What actions have you taken to move you towards your desire”?

I have got replies like: “Isn´t the law of attraction about things coming to you rather than you going to them?” In other words they have taken little or no action.

I reply: “Yes, however, its also about you taking actions to move you towards what you want and this requires a daily practise”

In other words we need to set our intentions and from the intention start taking small steps such as sending the email, making the phone call, doing the research etc

Use the question: “what am I going to do to get myself closer to this goal?”

Daily actions raise the vibrations around your intention. Actions are the bridge between the invisible and the visible. Taking action also makes you feel good. Feeling good is an essential part of aligning to your goal´s outcomes.

To quote Einstein: “Nothing happens until something moves”

When working with the law of attraction its important to start from an intention where you first get clear that the intention you set is what you really want. You do this by checking into how excited you feel. Getting to that excited feeling and knowing that the intention feels right and good for you, action then has to follow.

Taking action for action sake is not what this is about. Its first coming from a feeling that a certain goal is right for you. You see or feel it in your minds eye. You have considered some important actions and steps to take and then you take the first step, followed by another, then another and so on.

There is a Japanese method of building momentum known as Kaizen. Kaizen is taking small steps, day by day until eventually the momentum is built up it takes on a life of its own.

Your intention is to improve your fitness level and body weight. An action may be to go to the gym. Some people will go at it the goal in the first week and go to the gym 5 times a week and spend up to 2 hours asession getting fit. They take a gung ho approach to it and what happens is that after a couple of weeks they burn out or just go off the idea and are back to where they started.

The Kaizen way suggests you go to the gym and start of with say 1 hour or even less and ease your way into it. Perhaps at two or three times in a day you may have 10 minutes to stretch, run up a flight of stairs, walk briskly or do 20 press ups or whatever exercise suits you at the time. Taking these small consistent steps each day, and often, builds strength in not only your body but also your will and so your vibration is raised accordingly and alot of momentum is created.

In summary: Set a clear intention, have an action plan, take small consistent steps at the beginning and stay consistent. Using the Kaizen principle you avoid burning up all your energy in one go and so maintain ongoing momentum to make your goal a reality.

Any comments on this action theme would be welcome.

How is it we live in a world of possibilities? October 29, 2007

Posted by jameskilgarriff in Quantum Physics.Quantum Thinking.

Do we live in a world of possibilities? Can we make the impossible possible?

The spiritual masters of old say we can. Quantum theory is pointing us to the potential that lies with each on of us to create virtually anything we want if we take the time, effort and commitment to make this happen.

Quantum physics suggests that we can bring the invisible to visible form by the way we think and observe

How is this possible..

Quantum theory points to the fact that there is an energy field made up of everything. Some refer to this field as the zero point field or The Field. Others refer to it as The Planck scale named after Max Planck, the founder of Quantum Theory over 100 years ago.

Whatever word you want to call it, there exists an intelligent field that we can call upon to create the most amazing things. This thinking has come about besed on the following premise:

1) There is an underlining Field of energy that unifies all things and is intelligent

2) This Field is made up of wave forms that are wave energies of possibility and are only possibilities until we..

3) Observe something. The act of observation brings into existence an event which is based in time and space. The “event” could be a thought, a thing, a feeling or even an experience.

Before observation every potential exists. Inventions and new technologies we have yet to discover already exist until we become aware and place observation on these. Another way of saying it is placing attention on something and doing this on a continual basis until it forms in the material world.

Think about it – the building or house you are in started out as a thought form at one time. The computer you work with started out as a thought in someone´s mind and that someone decided to pursue that thought to bring that intention into material form.

In the world of possibilities It all start with a thought or compelling idea which acted upon bring that out of the Quantum Field into the world of existence.

Is the world embarking of a new thought paradigm? October 29, 2007

There is some compelling evidence to suggest that the conciousness of the world is moving from the old paradym based on Newtonian laws to a new paradym based on Quantum Mechanics.

Many of us are witnessing a disintigration of systems and methodologies in the way we do business, run countries and how we personally percieve the world.

According to the Newtonian way of looking at the world, which is still the predominant way of perceiving the world, we have grown up to believe that we are all separate from one another and that our inner world experiences have very little to do with or has no value in the external world. One is born here and considered to be a kind of machine like being and the Universe is out there, a vast place. We have bought into the image of a God, this wise old looking man with a beard, sitting somewhere in the heavens looking down at us and checking our every move.

We have become convinced that we live in a world of me against you thinking. Personally, I think that the route of alot of the problems in the world stem from this me against you thinking model and this is one of the reasons why the world has become such a complex and fragile place to live. If we are not careful we will end up destroying this world based on hostility, over competition, greed and a what´s in it for me attitude.

I am all for abundance, wealth, growth and prosperity, however, not based on a win lose model that we have become accustomed to the point that it seems like a natural way to think.

The results we see around us suggests we have to make some fundamental changes in thinking and behaviour to give ourselves at least some chance of comming through this and handing the world over to our children and future generations.

We need a new thinking paradigm starting now!

One of the new thought paradigms lies in the basic understanding of Quantum Physics.

Quantum scientists are all coming out with solid proof that we can affect the world locally and far away by the way we think. My individual thoughts may affect the way you think and vice versa because according to the scientists we are all connected. The buzz word for this is “entanglement”. The Spiritual traditions refer to this as “Onesness”.

Whether or not you are religious we have now unfolded a basic truth that we are all made up of this one energy and we have all come from this one Field.

It has not been fully explained in our religions or in society that responsibility for the way we think and behave is key to our existence. Quantum Physics is placing responsibility for the way we think and act squarely in our hands.

I prefer to term this the ability to respond

We are all made up of sub atomic particles. A particle in one location in the universe can affect another particle at another point in the universe.

What does this mean to you?

It means your thoughts affect the overall energy of the planet and collectively we affect the whole energy of the planet. If that energy is predominantly negative then it will affect us all negatively. There are even arguments to suggest our thoughts can affect weather systems and its curious to notice how many natural disasters have occurred in the last 20 years. In the  last few years there seems to have be a quickening in one distaster after another. Interesting.

The new paradigm in thinking is that we need to consider not only our individual needs, which are important, but also the needs of the whole.

Rather than look at what is wrong with various religions in the world, I prefer to look at what is good about each religion and how each has contributed to some of the good aspects of humanity. I can choose to look at the negative aspects, however, I am aware that my observation affects the Quantum Field and I  get back more of what I am thinking.

I prefer to dwell of thoughts of growth, collaboration, abundance, compassion and there is enough for all.

I also know that I have to give some observation time to what I don´t like about a certain religion´s view of things, however, I observe this for a briefly as I know that energy follows thought. I observe enough to know what needs to be transmuted and the transmutation comes from shifting my thoughts and energy towards what solutions can come or emerge. The Quantum Field will respond to this thinking by delivering solutions in ways I would never imagined.

Join me in this new paradigm of thinking. What can we lose by giving this a chance? also what can we potentially gain?

What is the language of the Quantum Field? October 29, 2007

A whole new way of thinking and being is emerging thanks to the insights that scientists and great thinkers have uncovered studying Quantum Physics and how we relate to this “matrix” of energy as described by Max Plank who was the founding father of quantum theory in 1910. Planck received a nobel prize for his work in 1910 and he is quoted as saying the following on the day he received the nobel prize:

“As a man who has devoted his life to the most clear headed science. To the study

Of matter. I can tell you, as a result of my research, this much:

There is no matter as such. All matter originates and exists only by a virtue of a Force

Which brings particles of an atom to a vibration and holds this most minutes solar

system of the atom together.

We must assume behind this force the existence of a conciousness and intelligent

Mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter. It is the source of all matter. You are

made up of the particles we called matter”

So this Force is the matrix of all matter. This Force is intelligent and dynamic and holds the potential of all that was, is and will be.

So how do we get in touch with this Force?

First we must be aware of what it is we intend. Our intention or observation is what brings this Force into play when we are thinking of something. For example I may want to increase my business sales turnover by 30% this year. This means I set a clear intention on what that looks like. Its also important to get personal feedback on what that “feels” like. The personal feedback takes the form of getting in touch with your emotional body.

If it feels right, if it feels exciting, if it feels like a stretch yet exciting then the emotions are the language of the Force.

So the currency by which you get in contact with the Quantum Field is a mix of correct and clear, specific thinking mixed with emotion. Emotions are the “vibrations” that register with the Field to get things in motion. Also, consider that another way of saying emotion is energy in motion.

If your emotions are based on fear and doubt, guess what – you get fear and doubt vibrations fed back to you from the Field. Its like the energy builds on itself be it a positive or negative. The Field mirrors or matches the vibration you are putting out there so its crucial you pay attention to what is in the process of becoming in the form of your thoughts as well as how you are feeling.

The emotions that the Quantum Field picks up initially stems from the way you think.

In simple terms – think and feel your way to what it is you wish to create and the Quantum Field will activate your intentions and the process of creation becomes a more deliberate one.

More about the power of emotions when I get a moment to post on this blog.
